American TransMed, Inc. is an Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service provider licensed by the State of South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control - Division of EMS & Trauma and a Basic Life Support Ambulance Service provider licensed by the North Carolina Office of EMS. American TransMed, Inc. entered into an agreement with Cabarrus County and Cabarrus County EMS to serve as the sole franchised provider of non-emergency BLS ambulance transportation in Cabarrus County, NC beginning August 1, 2015.

 

American TransMed, Inc. was founded in 1997. It has maintained being a staple in the communities for nearly 30 years, as a major transportation source for non – emergent transports, as well as providing long-term employment to so many individuals. American TransMed is owned and operated by Russ Cobb, CEO, who is a member of South Carolina EMS Board. Mr. Cobb has been an advocate for public safety retirement benefits in his 36 plus year tenure in EMS. Cobb, as a humanitarian, has served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic over the years as a contribution to the less fortunate. Continuing to out-do himself in personal growth, Russ has teamed with FEMA and other Natural Disaster Relief programs and professionals to assist in evacuations, deployments, and rehoming efforts – including but to limited to the outbreak of COVID-19 and Hurricane Milton. Russ, and American TransMed, hones on creating a pleasing and rewarding work environment, while focusing on kinship with the community and optimum patient care.
